Our laboratory paid a visit to DesignSingapore Council, Singapore’s national agency for design under the nation’s Ministry of Communications and Information. The council resides at National Design Centre, 111 Middle Road. As the representative of the host, Mr. Zeth Fu greeted the visiting lab with a welcoming speech followed a brief explanation about Prodev laboratory from Dr. Ing. Amalia Suzianti, ST., MSc. , the head of laboratory and the leader of the visiting group, as a response. The visit was commenced with an extensive presentation on DesignSingapore Council and a Q&A session.
The presentation’s extent covered up a number topics e.g., the background behind the council’s founding, its main activities and projects, and its position within the society. The visit was carried on with a tour to the council’s supporting facilities inside the NDC building e.g., Design Advisory, Prototyping Lab, Materials Design Lab, IDA Labs, Exhibition Room, and a store in which several products from Singapore’s creative industries were being showcased. Afterwards, the visit was ended with a photo session with the visiting group and the host’s representative.
