On October 13th 2015, a group of students and lecturer from the Knowledge Management course had an excursion to the National Museum, which is located on Jalan Merdeka Barat no. 12, Jakarta. The museum is home to approximately 140.000 collections classified into 7 categories, i.e., prehistoric collections, archeological collections, ceramics, numismatic and heraldic collections, historic collections, ethnographic collections, and geographical collections. The museum also normally hosts many kinds of exhibitions and events such as seminars, conferences, meetings, and etc.

At the time when the group visited the museum, a science and technology exhibition “Fostering Ideas” had been held. The exhibition was organized by the german embassy in Indonesia and was a part of Deutsch Saison, a german fair consisted of various events, each with its own theme such as culture, economy, arts, sports, science, politics, literatures, education, and etc. The exhibition showcased german science and research landscape with an overview on the collaborations and most important stakeholders behind it.

The group visited paid a visit to the exhibition and several display rooms of collections. The visit facilitated a warm and informal between students and lecturer and between students and students. This kind of discussion helps to build and maintain a close yet professional relationship among the participants. Furthermore, this kind of occasion also encourages people to share tacit knowledge with each other.
The visit was ended with a group photo and a hearty farewell.
